2 C. sugar
4 to 6 T. cocoa
1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. cream
2 C. quick cooking oats, uncooked
1/2 C. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C. chopped nuts or coconut, opt.
Combine sugar, cocoa, butter, and cream (I add a dash of salt). Bring to a boil over moderate heat; continue to boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper (if too thin, let stand a few minutes). Allow to stand until cookies are firm. Can be eaten as soon as firm or store in an airtight container. Easy enough for children to make.
